ISHRA Gathering at the Kittery Historical and Naval Museum

In August, several dozen people attended an ISHRA-sponsored gathering at the Kittery Historical and Naval Museum. The Museum welcomed us with open arms, with many of the museum’s board members attending to explain the various exhibits and interesting artifacts. They also provided a wonderful table laden with mid-morning goodies.

After introductions were made, attendees were able to wander at their leisure and take in the various exhibits showcasing the history of Kittery, Maine’s oldest town. They even have a special exhibit on the Isles of Shoals and Celia Thaxter, given that Appledore Island is part of Kittery, Maine and has such a rich history.

ISHRA will be partnering again with the Kittery Historical and Naval Museum in 2026 for an April presentation on the Isles of Shoals.

All in all, it is a treasure of a museum, chock-full of interesting artifacts and sure to be enjoyed by ISHRA supporters. Stop by when you can. www.kitterymuseum.org to learn more.
